EVESHAM Contact Centre has moved to a new location.

The centre which provides services on behalf of Wychavon District Council, Evesham Town Council, Worcestershire County Council and West Mercia Police, moved to a new central base at Evesham Library in Oat Street, earlier this week.

The hub has been at its former location, in Abbey Road, for the past 16 years.

The centre will offer exactly the same range of services - including dealing with police enquires - all managed by the same team.

The opening hours will be 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Kath Smith, customer services manager at Wychavon District Council, said “This is a great move for us and will be better for our customers.

“The central location and being co-located with other public services makes it easier for the customer and cuts down on our overheads.”

The authority says moving into the library will put services in the centre of Evesham by the bus station, and make accessing services face-to-face even easier.

The news follows Evesham Town Council’s move to a new office at Abbey Lane Court, after 12 years.

That move, which took place late last year, followed the expiry of the council’s lease at the Contact Centre.

The Town Council has signed a three year lease at its new ground floor office.
