A BUSINESSWOMAN spoke to students as part of a school’s career programme.

British Businesswoman and Entrepreneur Ruth Badger received a very warm welcome when she visited The De Montfort School last month to talk to 148 Year 10 pupils.

A finalist on TV’s The Apprentice, Ruth then went on to present her own TV Show Badger Or Bust as well as her own business consultancy which provides mentoring, sales training and motivational talks.

The headteacher at The De Montfort School, Guy Nichols, said: “We are delighted that Ruth presented to our students, she is a real ambassador for innovation and enterprise and its important our young people are able to engage directly with employers and role models like Ruth.

"It’s great that Ruth agreed to make the trip from Manchester to present here at our School."

Ruth talked to the students about her own career history, she said the key ingredients for making a success in business, resilience and motivation.

Mr Nichols added: “Our newly launched Careers Programme at TDMS is going from strength to strength.

"We are always interested in hearing from employers who want to support our students on their career journey, there are lots of opportunities for employers to get involved.”

Mr Nichols urged businesses to contact the school directly on 01386 442060, or email office@tdms.worcs.sch.uk should they wish to help.
