Harvington C of E First and Nursery School are celebrating another hugely successful year of supporting local and international charitable projects! The school's charity team, consisting of three Pupil Parliament Ministers and led by teaching assistant Jo Sale, work tirelessly each year to assist various causes in diverse ways.
Mrs Sale said:" Being charitable is hugely important to us at Harvington because it presents us with an excellent opportunity to practise our school values - friendship and respect in particular - as well as our school vision ' Together we Love, Learn and Grow'."
In the Autumn term pupils took part in a reverse advent calendar which encouraged small acts of kindness on a daily basis. During the Spring term a toy sale enabled the school to purchase hundreds of footballs for a Tanzanian based charity project as well as funding a child to attend primary school for one year in the local village.
For the summer term, the school has been helping the Evesham based food bank Caring Hands. Inspired by a visit from Dianne Bennett (who runs the charity) food and toiletry donations have been flooding in from families.
