IF you enjoy some of the well-known lively, atmospheric and heart-rending music from shows such as West Side Story, Chicago, Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman and many more, then here’s your chance to have a thoroughly great evening out in Hereford with foot-tapping live music!

Bromyard Symphonic Wind Band will be playing from these pieces and more at their Charity Concert this Friday, October 4 in St Martin’s Church, Hereford (HR2 7RJ).

Brass and woodwind are the band’s instruments, with a great percussionist enhancing the rhythm.

As well as the obvious wind instruments there are players using less well-known instruments such as the bass clarinet, the oboe and bassoon, and the large deep-toned baritone saxophone. One of the flautists sometimes uses the piccolo.

Come and enjoy all the great pieces in the programme, introduced and conducted by band musical director David Thomas.

Tickets £6, available from St Martin’s Church Office (01432 353717) or band members. Proceeds go to the Church.

Meanwhile the band is also preparing for a super Christmas Concert at the Conquest theatre in Bromyard on December 20, the Bromyard Christmas Lights Switch-on (November 23), and Christmas Eve carols in the street.
