A MAN was flown to hospital via air ambulance after being impaled on a metal spike.
Firefighters used an RTC platform to stabilise the man and provided trauma care before using a disc cutter to cut the spike allowing him to be taken to hospital.
Hereford & Worcester Fire Service received the emergency call at 4.55pm on Saturday following the incident in Kings Road, Evesham and left the scene at 6.15pm.
An Evesham Green Watch crew attended, alongside station commander Jon Laight and technical rescue lead Nick Tuckwell.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Laight said the "crews did a great job", while Chris Hollis, watch manager for Oxfordshire, said: "Always going to be a complex incident where you have to plan very carefully how to cut things in the most gentle way possible."
