AS the nights draw in photographers look to the skies to capture wonderful diamond studded autumn images: showing stars, a full moon or possibly even a glimpse of the Milky Way.

On a clear night anything is possible.

The concept of night sky photography can’t be faulted but actually creating this type of image is a skill and Gareth Watson, manager for London Camera Exchange (LCE) in Worcester, joins Birlingham Photography Club (BPC) this Tuesday, October 1, when he will reveal to club photographers the art of night sky photography.

Angela Fitch, BPC’s organiser, said: “We’ve all seen beautiful photographs of the night sky but it’s not as easy as it might appear to be.  BPC is fortunate to have the support of LCE Worcester and Gareth is an excellent photographer who is always happy to share his knowledge and experience with others.

"After Gareth’s presentation, weather permitting, we will get the opportunity to put his training into practice, so don’t forget to bring your camera and tripod.”

Birlingham Photography Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month, 7pm until 8.30pm and is open to photographers of all abilities.

Entry is £4 per meeting which includes refreshments.  For information, visit birlinghamphotography.co.uk.
