A COLLABORATION between the Garage Art Group in Evesham and Citizens Advice South Worcestershire has seen a Kandinsky-style painting on a wall in the office courtyard.

The project is part of the 80 for 80 campaign, celebrating 80 years since the start of the Citizens Advice service.

"The volunteers and staff work so hard we wanted to create an outside space for them to take themselves away from their workstations between clients and sit and relax," said Ann Parry, Evesham office manager for Citizens Advice.

"We cleared the small outside yard, one of the staff, Jodi Courtney brought in some garden furniture and this art idea was to brighten up a large brick wall which encloses the yard."

The Garage Art Group support health and well being through visual arts for all ages and abilities in Evesham and Malvern and were eager to be part of the project.

"Nicky Margetts and her group of volunteers worked all day, ignoring the drizzle and all we could hear was laughing from the yard," added Ann.

"The finished piece of art far exceeds our expectation; it is fabulous and really brightens up the little yard.

"We would also like to thank Sue Lee-Smith and Alan Suckling for clearing the weeds and brambles and Gary Kendall a local self employed contractor for donating his time to prepare the wall with two coats of masonry paint and helping to clear the ground."
