LITTLETONS WI October’s meeting of Littletons WI was our 69th anniversary and we are already working towards various celebrations for our 70th next year. President Margaret Potter opened the meeting by reminding us of this fact following which we sang Jerusalem. Various business matters were dealt with including the fact that Denman College had decided to revamp the Worcester bedroom and held six weeks of quilting sessions to make new covers for the beds. This involved WI ladies from the county, including one of our members, Janice, going to WI House twice a week for three hours each time to work on the quilts. Pictures of their beautiful work appeared in this month’s WI News. Janice advised us that this also involved a lot of work at home as well. Our November meeting is our Annual Meeting and President Margaret Potter asked again for members to volunteer to join the Committee. Members were also asked to bring along donations for the Evesham Food bank to that meeting It is our Group Quiz at the end of the month and four of our members are entering. Tina introduced our speaker, David Wornham, who gave a very enlightening talk on how we can improve our personal safety not just in our own homes but also when we are out and about. He had various items and literature to give us further information about keeping safe which we were allowed to help ourselves to. The Vote of Thanks was given by June and our usual delicious supper followed. The competition, “A Tip for a safe Halloween” was won by Annette. The next members meeting is on Tuesday 12th November, 2019 at 7.00pm.
