After seven years waiting for a home, Harry is hoping to wow with his magic tricks.

Dogs Trust Evesham is playing host to an adorable resident who, despite learning and showing off his repertoire of tricks for treats, is still waiting for a forever home seven years on.

Jack Russell Terrier, Harry, is nine years old and has been waiting for a forever home for most of his life. He is super clever and has been busy learning lots of tricks including sit, down, ringing a bell and bowing to enchant a new owner into adopting him.

The team say Harry is full of spirit and is in search of a home where he will be more than happy to do some tricks for doggie treats from his new owners.

Tracy Marshall, Harry’s Canine Carer at Dogs Trust Evesham said: “He’s a perfect example of a Jack Russell; he loves to be on the go and to keep his brain busy so he’s longing to find a family that can continue with his trick training and take him on long rural walks where he can put his nose to good use.”

Harry can find strangers scary so is looking for a quiet, pet-free, adult-only home with minimal visitors, or a separate room in the home where he can chill out on his own when guests come over. He needs a family that will take a hands-off approach with him as even though he’s small, he is not a lap dog. He is very independent boy who thrives on routine and is happy to be left up to four hours on his own during the day. Potential new owners would need to live within an hour of the rehoming centre so his new family can continue to work with Harry’s trainers.

Tracy adds: “He will be a wonderful canine companion in the right home, he just needs understanding owners who are prepared to take things slowly with him and appreciate that there are some things in his world that he finds difficult. Whilst we’re hoping that his tricks work their magic, we’re hoping somebody can find it in their heart to love him all year round.”
