A PUB that was badly flooded is receiving support from its community to get it back into shape.

A page has been set up on the website gofundme to raise money for the Gate Inn, Honeybourne after the whole ground floor of the building was flooded which has had a significant impact.

"It is nice to know that people care" Jason Watts, the pub landlord said.

"Now we are starting to see what we need. The floor needs changing, the skirting boards, and the carpets. We need some new tables and some of the chairs legs have bowed because of the water."

"Mainly we are trying to get some flood defences to try and eliminate it from happening again."

The most recent flood affected the pub for the the second time in three weeks. The pub lost out on business, having to close for around two or three days over a weekend, which would usually be a busy time.

Mr Watts said: "We have got some nice customers and friends trying to help us. It is nice to know you have got the community behind you."

"Every time heavy rain comes we are worried it is going to flood again. We have been here three years and this is the worst we have seen."

"There is a drain outside our pub which is always blocked so as soon as we get a bit of rain it floods."
