  • York City took the lead three minutes later as they hit Hereford on the break, as Alex Kempster's shot took a deflection to beat Brandon Hall in goal.
  • Danny Greenslade then saw a shot from outside the box blocked by Steve McNulty, and shouts for a penalty were swiftly dismissed by the referee moments later.
  • After being picked out by Jason Pope, Styche made progress and broke into the box, but he couldn't get a shot away before he felt he was fouled.
  • There were further chances for Hereford as Taylor Allen shoots just over the crossbar after being teed-up by Stephen Dawson, followed by a long-range effort from Styche which sailed comfortably into the arms of the keeper.

  • Hereford still looked lively, and the introduction of Alex Bray to the action in place of Peter Vincenti saw fresh legs on the pitch.
  • Midway through the second half, Bray had linked up well with Stephen Dawson to break into the box but was brought down. Reece Styche stepped up to take the spot kick, making no mistake to fire past Jameson.

  • Hereford continued to look vulnerable when hit with a counter-attack from York, with a cross-come-shot from Elliot Durrell is cleared by Hodgkissover his own cross bar. York substitute Macaulay Langstaff was lurking waiting for the ball to fall to him.
