THE deadline to make your nominations for Evesham Journal's pub of the year is tomorrow, so time really is running out to take part.

Voted for by the public, the aim is to find the most popular pub in Evesham while also celebrating the many fantastic watering holes in our town.

Last year hundreds of pub-goers supported their favourite establishments by making a nomination. Volunteer run The Queen Elizabeth Inn in Main Road took the top prize, with Neil Lavender-Jones from the pub saying the success was testament to hard working staff.

We have again been inundated with your votes this year but in a tight competition every vote counts, so keep them coming in.

The winning landlord receives a Pub of the Year 2019 trophy and will be invited to the Houses of Parliament by the town’s MP, Nigel Huddleston.

The MP said: “I am delighted to be supporting the competition to celebrate the huge contribution that our amazing pubs make to the communities around them.”

And Evesham Journal editor Michael Purton said: “The Pub of the Year competition is about highlighting the importance of pubs in their community just as much as crowning a winner.

"Get your votes in before our deadline."

To vote, simply cut out the slips from the newspaper and send them to us.

Readers can also vote for their favourite pub by email. All readers need to do is email deb.walton@localiq.co.uk with the subject ‘EVESHAM JOURNAL PUB OF THE YEAR: NAME OF THE PUB’ and then, in the body of the email, explain why they’ve chosen the pub.

The deadline for email votes is the same as for the voting slips in the paper tomorrow, December 20. The winner will be announced in the Journal and on our website on Christmas Eve.
