If you are fascinated by the Civil War and its links to Worcestershire, the Hive’s latest behind the scenes tour is sure to be a highlight of 2020.

The last backstage tour of the library was a sell-out, taking visitors to the strong rooms and conservation parts of the library, areas not usually open to the public.

This latest tour will focus on the documents and pamphlets from the Civil War, and you’ll also get to see some of the archaeological finds from the recent work at the Battle of Worcester site. You’ll be given access to the secure conservation areas, to see for yourself how the artefacts are stored and looked after.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet member for Communities at Worcestershire County Council said; “"Our tours are always popular as we take people to places they don’t normally get to see. This is extra special as we some amazing documents relating the Civil War and we have the battlefields finds on display at the moment. It promises to be an exciting and engaging tour.”

The tours take place on 2 dates, Saturday 11th January 2020 and Wednesday 22nd January 2pm-3.30pm. Tickets are £6 and must be booked in advance. Booking links at explorethepast.co.uk/events
