Inspirational people from Wychavon who have gone above and beyond for their community will be celebrated at an awards ceremony.

The annual Community Recognition Awards recognises ‘community heroes’ who, in 2019, have volunteered, coached or helped others and made the district a better place to live and work.

Wychavon District Council’s Community Development team is looking for inspirational stories from people of all ages who have helped to improve their neighbourhood, club, society or community in the past year.

The categories are:

Young Volunteer award

Volunteer award

Arts Recognition award

Sporting Hero award

Community Project award

Community Group award

Enabling Healthy Lives award

Lifetime Achievement award

The Community Recognition Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 5, at Peopleton Village Hall.

"From volunteering and helping the community to achievements in sport or arts, we want to hear their story. The contributions from these people help to make Wychavon a better place to live and work.”
