THE Worcestershire Education Awards (WEA) for 2020 has is now accepting nominations.

The Worcester News has once again teamed up with the University of Worcester for the awards scheme which recognises and celebrates the hard work, passion, quality and dedication in educational establishments across the county.

A launch event with sponsors and previous award winners is set to take place at the University of Worcester Arena, in Hylton Road, from 10am to noon on Thursday, February 6.

While the 2020 winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony at the University Arena on Thursday, June 25.

Anyone can nominate an individual or an organisation for a Worcestershire Education Award.

These are are the 12 categories:

•Early Years Education Award

•Community Involvement Award

•Primary / Middle School of the Year

•Head Teacher / Principal of the Year

•Secondary School of the Year

•Teacher / Lecturer of the Yea

•College, or Post-18 Education & Training Provider

•Newcomer of the Year

•Special Education Needs (SENCO) Award

•Support Staff of the Year

•Independent School of the Year

•Unsung Hero

-Inspirational mentor

This will be the fourth year of the awards which are supported by a host of sponsors.
