A TENNIS club is going into its 5th year of helping Worcestershire’s only dedicated breast cancer charity.

Pershore Tennis Centre has been raising money for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH), with over £4,500 raised so far.

The centre has 413 members, 43 percent of them female. It uses its annual charity day tournament as a fundraiser for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven as well as raising money with other club events throughout the year.

The money raised through the continued support of Pershore Tennis Centre over this time helps WBUH to continue to provide and offer the complementary therapies of Breast Cancer Haven on a Thursday at the Unit as well as support any clinical needs of the Breast Unit team over and above NHS provision to keep the Unit at the forefront of patient care.

Jane Warner, tournament director at Pershore Tennis Centre said: “It’s wonderful to see our annual event going from strength to strength and supporting this amazing local charity. On behalf of the Club, I’m delighted that ladies from across the counties have continued to gather together to raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven. It’s such a worthy cause and one close to our hearts. We look forward to playing and fundraising for many more years to come.”
