A MAN raided a Bolton betting shop in broad daylight wielding a knife.
The robbery happened today (Thursday) at 11.40am at the Betfred shop in Halliwell Road.
The man burst into the store and threatened staff with a knife before attempting to flee.
Police have since arrested a 29-year-old on suspicion of robbery.
A police spokesman said: "At around 11.40am today (Thursday 23 January 2020), police were called to reports of an armed robbery at Betfred on Halliwell Road, Bolton.
"Officers attended and have established the offender threatened staff with a knife.
"No injuries have been reported but staff have been left shaken.
"A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody for questioning.
"An investigation is underway."
