THE headteacher of a Worcester School has been nominated in this year's Worcestershire Education Awards.

Emily Hobson, from Oasis Academy Warndon, has been nominated for Headteacher/Principal of the Year for her "inspirational" leadership.

The nomination said: "Emily is an inspirational leader. Her focus for our children and drive to give them the very best that they can shines through in everything she does.

"She came here in 2014 as an Associate Principal and helped to achieve the good rating from OFSTED in 2015.

"She took over as Principal 3 years ago and the school has flourished. The focus is on high quality education for our children but is also interleaved with character education and a holistic approach that enables our children to display the characteristics they need for life.

"She has integrity, drive and a team who wholeheartedly follow her vision and wish the best for our children."

"She deserves this award."
