A-LEVEL results have officially been published - and parents can check how their child’s sixth form compares in Worcestershire with the full results list released.
The average A-level result works out the average grade and average points that students achieved per entry.
To achieve an AAB or a higher grade students need to enter at least two facilitating subjects, which are: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, further mathematics, geography, history, English literature and classical or modern languages.

Top of the pile is Malvern St James, in Avenue Road, where 34 per cent of students got three A-levels at grades AAB or higher. The King’s School, in College Green, was second with 32.2 per cent getting the desired grade.
Also, with AAB pass rates higher than 20 per cent were The Chase, in Geraldine Road, Malvern, with 29.1 per cent and the Royal Grammar School Worcester, in Upper Tything, with 20.6 per cent getting the desired grade.
The schools at the bottom of the table include The De Montfort School, in Four Pools Road, Evesham, with 0 per cent of students achieving the AAB pass rate, with grade D being the average A-level grade.
Guy Nichols, headteacher at The De Montfort School, said: “In order to be an inclusive school, we take children into our sixth form who have not been and would not be accepted elsewhere. We believe it is important to use our discretion to give students an opportunity to continue their studies, even if they have not quite made the standard entry grades expected by other schools, because we want, where we can, to give our students every chance. To this end, we also offer a range of A-level and BTEC subjects to provide a rich academic and vocational offer and to make post 16 education more accessible.
”
Also, 0 per cent of students at Tudor Grange Academy Worcester received the AAB grade, where the average result was a D+.
Tudor Grange Academy Worcester were unavailable to comment.
