A CARE village invited 20 young carers to be pampered and treated to a day of relaxation.

There are more than 3,500 people under the age of 18, caring for loved ones in Worcestershire.

As carers for the over 55s, the team at Richmond Wood Norton know only too well the work that young carers take on by looking after a loved one, on top of their school and working life. To mark National Young Carers Day the team at Richmond Wood Norton invited 20 young carers from across Worcestershire and Gloucestershire into the village for a day of rest and relaxation.

During the day-long event, attendees were treated to a day away and made full use of Richmond Wood Norton’s state-of-the-art facilities, including full access to the village’s spa and an array of beauty treatments as well as enjoying lunch in the onsite restaurant.

Village manager, Paul Brady said: “We have so many young people living across the UK who are having to go above and beyond. It is an amazing thing to do, caring for someone you love, but it can also be tiring and mean that you often don’t get the time to care for yourself. That’s why we at Richmond Wood Norton wanted to give something back and are so glad to have been able to play a part in helping to support the young carers of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, we hope they leave us feeling rested and relaxed.”
