A Thornbury couple has had a lucky escape after a huge tree fell onto their house.
Bob and Gill Quilty arrived back at their Bristol Road home just minutes after tree, thought to be 30m tall, had fallen onto it.
Bob said: "We arrived home moments after the tree had fallen.
"Neighbours all heard the sound from inside their homes. It's a very lucky escape as there is only damage to one small part of our home."
The incident occurred around 3.30pm on Tuesday, following strong winds in the aftermath of Storm Dennis.
"We've got a supply of firewood to last the foreseeable future," joked Bob.
