PERSHORE Town Council has been reaccredited with Quality Gold Status.

The award is given to councils demonstrating performance to a high standard and is up to date and progressive by the standards set by the sector.

Pershore Town Council first achieved Quality status in 2007 and renewed this in 2011.

However the award scheme changed and in 2015, the council was only the fourth council in the country to achieve the Quality Gold Award.

The certificate was presented to the town mayor at a ceremony in early February.

The chairman of the accreditation panel praised the council for their achievement, giving the council confidence that it is delivering to the highest national professional standard.

Pershore has a population of approximately 8,500 with 3,600 households and the council been in existence since 1974.
