TWO more people in Hampshire have died from coronavirus, bringing the total of deaths in the county to 11.

The NHS has said that a total of 159 people have died in the last 24 hours in hospitals in England because of Covid-19, bringing the total to 1,284 in England.

It comes after three people were confirmed to have died yesterday at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester hospitals.

Of the 159 new deaths announced on Monday, the youngest patient was 32-years-old and the oldest 98.
155 had underlying health conditions, and the four who did not were aged between 56 and 87.

Both patients who died in Hampshire passed away on Saturday.

There are more than 19,500 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK, including 432 in Hampshire - excluding Southampton and Portsmouth.

The increase in deaths - 159 - is the slowest increase of deaths in England in days. On Sunday, there were 190 new deaths, with 246 on Saturday and 168 on Friday.
