A SALON owner said she was furious after suffering a car break in - the second time she has been a victim of crime within 16 months.

Vicki Baker, owner of The Hair and Beauty Hub, Swan Lane, Evesham, has thanked a kind hearted person who found her phone after the break in.

Mrs Baker said her family, including her kids and husband, Craig, parked their Vauxhall Vectra in Willersey Road, between Badsey and Willersey, at around 5pm on Saturday, May 23, and on returning found the vehicle had been broken into.

"We literally just went with the kids and the dog for a walk," Mrs Baker said.

"We circled round the village and went back but noticed my husband's lights on the car were going off, and his first thought was a window had been left down.

"We ran down to the car and that's when we saw the passenger side window smashed. They had thrown a rock through the window - the rock was still inside the car.

"Heart was in the mouth as I knew I had put my work mobile in the glovebox, and realised it was gone.

"We went home and it wasn't until then I realised the keys were also gone.

"It was chaos for a couple of days. It scared both kids to the point my daughter, who is five, was scared in her own home.

"My mobile has all my clients on it.

"My salon was broken into 10 months ago as well. With everything happening it is the last thing you want at the moment. Being a hairdresser obviously I can't work, can't earn. It was a bit of nightmare."

But Mrs Baker said she couldn't believe it when the next morning, May 24, she got the good news the iPhone had been found by the brook.

"It could have ended up in the water, which I think is where the keys ended up," Mrs Baker said.

"A walker found it and returned it, which was amazing.

"I wanted to say thank you to Jo and Eddie Keen who found the phone, I really was thankful for them finding it and returning it to us."

Mrs Baker said she hoped someone saw something in the area that early evening, that will help police catch the thieves.

In the February 2019 break her laptop was taken that had family photos and videos on it, and was never recovered.

Anyone with information on the break is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 22/42175/20.
