THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across Greater Manchester, as approaching storms are set to batter the region.

While the temperature will be staying at a toasty 24C, the clouds will be rolling in and the heavens are set to open.

Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Trafford and Sale are all set to see the storm set to hit on Monday and Tuesday.

The yellow weather warning means some places are likely to see severe thunderstorms - but the Met Office has warned that there is "significant uncertainty in location and timing."

The Met Office has said that there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly - with damage to some buildings possible from floodwater, large hail and even lightning strikes.

Should flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to public transport.

Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and increased chance of accidents, while fast flowing or deep floodwater could cause danger to life.
