STAFF at a Dudley care home were touched after receiving a personal thanks from the Lord Lieutenant of the West Midlands for their work during the coronavirus crisis.

Lord Lieutenant John Crabtree OBE, who represents the Queen in the West Midlands, sent a message of thanks and a card to the team at Broadway Halls care home this week.

The message thanked staff for their contribution during the crisis and hailed their work as 'inspiring'.

Lord Lieutenant Crabtree wrote: "As the representative of Her Majesty The Queen in the West Midlands, I would like to thank you for the contribution you have made to the County during these extraordinary and difficult times.

"No matter how large or small, the innovation, collaboration, humanity and selfless service shown by so many across the region during the Covid-19-pandemic has been truly inspiring."
