SALON owners have expressed their joy to be able to offer a full range of treatments, as lockdown measures are eased.

Close contact services that involve work directly in front of the face will now be available to customers in England from today, which include facial waxing and eyebrow treatments.

Christine Wood, who runs The Beauty Spot Bellevue Terrace, Malvern, said: “Great news that I can offer face treatments now, but, again, the news came at short notice from the Government.

“I will finally be back to normal, as the restriction was crippling many businesses.”

Cymone Wood, who runs Malvern Serenity in Court Road, Malvern, said: “I’m thrilled the change has been made.

“Seventy per cent of the income for the shop comes from facial work and I have to keep nine members of staff busy and keep their diaries full.”

“They have been very understanding during this difficult time.

“Fingers crossed it doesn’t change again in a couple of weeks, but I understand things change.”

The Prime Minister said: “Further changes which will allow more people to return to work and the public to get back to more of the things they have missed.

“However, as I have always said, we will not hesitate to put on the brakes if required, or to continue to implement local measures to help to control the spread of the virus.”

Nightclubs, dance halls, and discotheques, as well as sexual entertainment venues and hostess bars, must remain closed.
