A WORCESTERSHIRE man is taking on a 70-mile bike ride to support a charity which looks after firefighters and their families.

Sam Cullis, from Evesham, will ride from Evesham to Gloucester before arriving back in Worcester on September 19 to raise money for the Firefighters Charity.

Mr Cullis will be riding the 70-mile round trip from Evesham Fire Station to the headquarters of Gloucestershire Fire Service, then coming back to the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire service headquarters to round off his trip.

During his journey, he will parade through Upton Upon Severn alongside a fire engine before making the final stretch to Worcester, where he will be welcomed by the mayor.

From there he will finish back at Evesham Fire Station.

Mr Cullis is looking for donations to help the charity, which helps support past and present firefighters and their families.

He said: "I can't hit this target alone, so I am calling upon everyone to get involved and really make a difference for this lifeline service.

"Please help me together achieve something great as the charity helps injured fire fighters, their families and their mental and physical health."

Earlier this year Mr Cullis took on a triathlon for the fire service, running two miles, cycling 10 miles and carrying a 25kg bag of cement.
