PEOPLE living in flats say they are living in fear after being targeted by a gang of youths.

More than a dozen – some of whom are elderly – say stones, eggs and bottles are being thrown at their homes in a building managed by a housing association in Belle Orchard Close, Ledbury.

One resident, who does not want to be named, said: "I've had stones thrown into my garden. Eggs from over the high fence at the back of the block have been thrown at my flat too.

"Objects are mainly thrown over using the cover of darkness, but sometimes it happens in the day.

"Other neighbours have experienced the same thing but are scared like me to reveal their names – many of us living here are old. It happens too quickly to see anyone.

"I've even had empty glass bottles thrown over – it's been going on for years. It keeps stopping and then starting again.

"There's a group of teenagers that hang around nearby, and I often hear them shouting and playing about in the early hours of the morning, keeping me awake.

"I'm scared in my own home, and I don't like living here anymore."

A complaint about the behaviour has been lodged with Fortis Living, now the Platform Housing Group.

Catherine Cole, assistant director, communities and neighbourhoods (west) at Platform Housing Group, said : “We take all reports of alleged anti-social behaviour and nuisance seriously and where appropriate we work with the local policing teams to resolve such reports with the parties involved.”
