A HAMPSHIRE man has been banned from the roads after he was caught drink driving.

Michael David Hill was found to be drink driving in an Audi A5 on Southampton Road in Segensworth, Fareham, on July 16.

The 28-year-old was found to have 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Hill, of Sorrel Drive, Whiteley, was disqualified from driving for 15 months and fined £500.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £50 and court costs of £85.
