FIVE areas in the city saw three or more new coronavirus cases recorded last week.

Five cases were recorded in Lower Wick and Bromwich Road and a further three positive cases were recorded in Warndon East, according to the latest data.

King George’s Field recorded four cases between September 14 and September 120 and three cases were recorded in Dines Green and St John's.

Three cases were also recorded in Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood during the week.

King George’s Field covers WR3 and WR4 postcodes including parts of Astwood Road, Tolladine Road, Langdale Drive, Brickfields Road and Blackpole Road.

The latest data published by Public Health England shows which areas in the city have recorded three new cases or more in the week between September 14 and September 20 – the latest data available.

Three cases were recorded in Barbourne and Rainbow Hill and three cases were recorded in Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood between September 7 and September 13.

Three cases were recorded in Worcester Town North – the area covering many WR1 and some WR3 postcodes – which includes most of the city centre, Arboretum and Barbourne, between August 31 and September 6.

The figures are split into several ‘middle super output areas’ – which is used by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) – zones that are slightly larger than postcode areas with an average population of around 7,200 people.

Areas with fewer than two cases are not highlighted by Public Health England in its figures.

A total of 3,033 confirmed cases have been recorded in Worcestershire up to September 24, according to latest figures by Public Health England.

Of those cases, 505 have been recorded in Worcester, 297 in Malvern Hills and 557 in Wychavon.

A total of 511 cases have been recorded in Wyre Forest, 669 in Bromsgrove and 494 in Redditch.
