A CAFÉ in Worcester is reopening under new management, following rumours it will be closed for good after not re-opening following the coronavirus lockdown.
The Full English Cafe on Astwood Road is reopening after being closed since March.
Rachel Harding, who will be managing the café, said she hopes to reopen the coffee shop next weekend (October 3).
Rachel said: “It’s very exciting, it’s new, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m very nervous.
“It was something that was doing well but then Covid hit. I know people will say I’m mad taking it on during Covid, but if everyone had that attitude, they’d be nothing left.”
She added: “As long as you take on board all the restrictions I don’t understand why something can’t still function.

“I know you have to take into consideration that people are scared of the virus, but as long as everyone is careful and we do what we can.
“If we all had the attitude that everything has to close they’d be no country left. Businesses have to keep going. You have to try.
“It’s trial and error and then I can change things to what’s working. I think the first few months will be difficult but touch wood, I’ll be able to give people what they want.”
Rachel said the previous owner wanted to walk away from the café as he has other business commitments.
She added: “He gave me the opportunity to take it over so that’s what I’m going to do. I’d rather start small then go bigger if I need to.”
The café’s opening hours will extend to 7am to 4pm seven days a week.
There will be eat in, takeaway and delivery options available for customers.
The café will keep the same menu, but a few extra items will be added.
A chef will be employed in addition to Rachel’s son who will help out in the café. As the business expands she said there will be room for taking more members of staff on.
