VANDALS drove onto a cricket pitch destroying nets and fencing.
Badsey Cricket Club estimate the damage is about £2,000.
Player at Badsey Cricket Club, Jack Rogers said: “When they drove through the fence it damaged it.
“And then they were just doing doughnuts round the pitch which destroyed our wickets, then hit our training net and totally destroyed it.
“All in all it’s probably cost us about £2,000.”
The club has had to spend money on rollers and mowers as well as a professional to repair the nets.
Mr Rogers said: “We had to cancel a game the next weekend after, and we haven’t been able to train for the last three weeks.”
The front bumper of the car was left on the pitch after the vandals hit the training net.
The vandalism which took place on the evening of Saturday, September 5 was reported to police.
Mr Rogers said: “The club’s secretary and chairman, Dave Powell spends all his time free of charge, here, seven days a week.
“He works tirelessly and puts his life and soul into it, so it was a big thing for him when the pitch was destroyed.”
A funding page has been set up to help the club recover.
