A 13 year old boy was assaulted in Evesham.
The boy was attacked by three other young boys on Evesham High Street on Wednesday (October 14) around 3:30pm. The attack was the middle of Swan Lane crossroads outside Wetherspoons.
Enquiries are ongoing with the victim and a number of witnesses. All appropriate people were informed.
A police officer described how officers treat assaults involving children. "We deal with this no differently than we would if adults were involved. All persons involved are above the age of criminality and were not on school premises when it occurred. The victim with the support of his parents (age would determine the need for an appropriate adult to facilitate communication and offer support) would make the decision as to whether they wish to make a complaint and the offenders will be interviewed and dealt with appropriately when identified."
"If they are under the age of 18 they will also have the support of an appropriate adult during the criminal justice process. In addition if it is identified that persons responsible are attending school and were wearing a uniform it will be appropriate to engage with the teachers/staff and similarly offer reassurance to the community and other pupils alike."
