THE talking newspaper service has recorded news reads for the Worcester News and its associate papers for the first time in seven months.

Peter Wisbey, from the service, said recordings stopped during lockdown, and there have been no new recordings since.

Prior to lockdown, the service had been running for nearly four decades, providing a life-line to blind and partially sighted residents.

Mr Wisbey said recordings were recorded yesterday and posted out to visually impaired people who use the service.

The service is provided free of charge and the paper, which includes Evesham Journal stories, is recorded with the help of volunteers using modern recording equipment.

Anyone who wants to volunteer for the service can call Peter on 01386 41165 or email wtalkingnewspaper@gmail.com.
