A TREE will pay tribute to loved ones lost this year and will raise money for good causes.

The Tree of Remembrance appeal is organised by the Pershore Rotary Club.

A Pershore Rotary Club spokesman said: "2020 has been a devastating year for many families, homes and communities. We’ve lost family members, friends and working colleagues to the Coronavirus and many people have lost their jobs and businesses. Many were taken away from us without the opportunity to say goodbye in the proper way."

"Christmas is the time of year when we get together and remember those no longer with us. Christmas this year will be very different and Pershore Rotary’s Tree of Remembrance appeal gives us that opportunity to remember them."

This is also the Rotary Club's annual fundraising appeal and this year all the money received will be donated to the Acorns Children’s Hospice and PRoGS, Pershore Rotary’s Grant Scheme to help local individuals or organisations with some funding.

Last year over £5000 was raised with £1,500 to Midlands Air Ambulance, £1,500 to St. Richard’s Hospice and £1,000 to the PROGS grant scheme for local needs.

Among other good causes, donations enabled Rotarians to support a ‘Kids Out’ day for disadvantaged children in the local area and a Pershore High School candidate for the Rotary Youth Leaders Award (RYLA).

Donations in the name of a person, or persons, can be made through the application form attached and online via the Money Giving page pershoretreeoflights.com.
