A THEATRE group are bringing a pantomime, the old favourite, Babes in the Wood to Pershore.

The Festival Players were delighted to be able to present Agatha Christie's Spider's Web at The Valley for three nights in September, but now have their sights set on a live pantomime for Number 8 in Pershore in December.

Against all the odds, and with some final details to settle, the young actors of the group are hoping to present Babes in the Wood on 17, 18, 19 December doing four Covid-free performances in all (two on Saturday 19th).

As The Festival Players did last year in Evesham, with a very small cast, this will be a mini-pantomime at minimal cost, just 50 minutes long with no interval, for parents and children, especially children who may never have been to the theatre before. The perfect hour for families to enjoy music and comedy locally just before Christmas.

Watch out for more details of socially distanced seating at Number 8 and for the box-office to open when final details are confirmed.

In the meantime if any teenager would like to be part of this production there are still one or two vacancies for Robin Hood's men in the cast! Get in touch with the director Eric Jones on 01386 48788 and you could be part of perhaps the only pantomime in Wychavon this Christmas.
