A MAN was fined after admitting being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Robert Evans pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on October 22.

The court heard Evans was drunk and disorderly in Copenhagen Street on September 7. Evans was fined £80, reduced from £120 due to his guilty plea.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34.

Magistrates ordered the total amount, £114, would be consolidated with his outstanding court fines, and paid at a rate of £20 a month deducted from his benefits.

Evans, of Broad Street, Worcester, appeared in this paper last year when he was jailed for carrying a black-handled meat cleaver in St Martin’s Gate, Worcester.

The 47-year-old also pleaded not guilty to an offence of causing a woman harassment, alarm or distress through the use of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

The trial was scheduled to be held at the city magistrates court on January 8.

Proceedings to make a criminal behaviour order on the offence of drunk and disorderly behaviour were adjourned until after the trial. Evans was given unconditional bail.

Meanwhile, also at the court, Maxine Pincott, of Edith Berry Court, Malvern, was fined for a drink drive offence.

The court heard the 58-year-old was arrested for the offence after the Fiat Punto she was driving on Townsend Way, Malvern, was stopped on August 7.

After being taken to a police station she gave two samples, the lowest being 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The drink drive limit is 35mcg of alcohol in 100ml breath.

Pincott was also banned from driving for three years, but the disqualification period will be reduced by 274 days if Pincott successfully completes a drink drive awareness course.

Pincott was fined £120, and ordered to pay costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £34.

Magistrates told Pincott to pay the total amount, £289, at a rate of £20 per month with first payment on November 11.

And Mark Hewitt, of Manor Lane, Stourbridge, was given a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to two thefts in Malvern.

The court heard Hewitt stole various items totalling £453.99 from Boots and a Jacket worth £12.99 from Mountain Warehouse on September 20.

The 39-year-old was told to pay a victim surcharge of £22 and costs of £100.

The total, £122, was to be consolidated with outstanding money owed to the courts and paid a rate of £20 a month, with first payment November 19.
