HERE are the latest infection rates for the county with every area seeing an increase last week.

The infection rate increased in Worcester, Wychavon, Malvern Hills, Bromsgrove and Redditch in the week up to October 22 – compared to a week earlier – with the rate in Worcester more than doubling.

The infection rate in Worcester was 152.1 per 100,000 people with 154 cases recorded in the city in the seven days up to October 22 compared to an infection rating of 73.1 in the previous week.

A total of 741 cases were recorded in Worcestershire in the seven days up to October 21, according to Public Health England, with the county's infection rate rising to 124.4 per 100,000 people.

The highest infection rate in the county was in Bromsgrove where it increased to 179.2 per 100,000 people with 179 cases recorded in the week up to October 22. The infection rate a week earlier was 160.2 per 100,000 people.

The infection rate in Wychavon was 113.6 with 147 cases compared to 83.4 a week earlier.

The infection rate in Redditch was 140.7 compared to 113.8 a week earlier with 120 cases recorded in the seven days up to October 22.

The infection rate in Malvern was 96.6 with 76 cases compared to 64.8 a week earlier.

Wyre Forest recorded an infection rate of 109.6 with 111 cases in the week compared to a rating of 86.9 a week earlier.

For comparison, the infection rate in Nottingham – which will be facing tougher restrictions as it moves to the ‘very high’ tier 3 on Thursday (October 29) – was 464.4 during the same week.

The highest infection rate was Blackburn with Darwen with 755.5 per 100,000 people.

Liverpool, which is already in tier 3, had an infection rate of 520.2 in the week up to October 22.

The infection rate in Manchester was 489.1 and Warrington, which moved to tier 3 on Tuesday (October 27), was 395.2 per 100,000 people.

Birmingham had an infection rate of 260.5 in the week up to October 22 and the infection rate was 236.6 in Wolverhampton and 249.9 in Solihull.
