A SCOTTISH themed cafe will open in Evesham.

Jean Abraham moved from to Evesham six years ago from a Scottish mining village called Shotts.

She started up a business selling her hand made Scotch eggs online which became successful with local farm shops such as Hampton Farm Shop adding them to their menus.

Mrs Abraham said: "It created a little interest. I saw that there was a gap in the market for something like this in Evesham. The cafe has been shut for 18 months now."

The site for the new cafe, Wee Jeanie's is the cafe on Bridge Street which used to be The Old Lantern and Grill.

Mrs Abraham said: "The meat I use comes from Scotland. People can't wait to try the Scotch Lorne sausage. The Scotch eggs I make are proper Scotch eggs. They have an authentic taste. They are not like anything you will get at a supermarket."

"I have had such good feedback."

Mrs Abraham is hoping to open the cafe on November 23 depending on covid19 restrictions but is doing take-aways until then.

When she finally opens there will be a launch with a Scottish bagpiper.

Mrs Abraham said she is not worried about opening a new business during the pandemic.

"People need to eat. I don't think there is going to be much of a problem. We are bang in the middle of a shopping centre. So I can imagine it will be quite busy. We have also had to get some locals to help us out."
