A MOD band has reunited virtually after 38 years amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Best known for supporting bands including The Jam, Secret Affair, and Lambrettas, REACTION, was at the heart of the 80s mod scene.

Bruno Gallone, 58 who lived in Bretforton for 10 years, has featured in the Evesham Journal a number of times over the years as a solo artist, and is the lead singer of the group which formed in November 1980.

Bruno said: “A reunion wasn’t something I’d ever planned on, least of all in a year when a global pandemic prevented us from meeting up.

I was overwhelmed by the conversations taking place on the Facebook group, with people sharing their memoires of REACTION and knew I couldn’t ignore the demand for new music any longer."

With band members living on different parts of the globe, the internet came to the rescue.

Bruno added: "I set about writing the new songs and the band shared their ideas virtually about how they wanted them to sound.

"It wasn’t the easiest of tasks, balancing technology, everyone’s work and family lives – not to mention time difference – all things that we wouldn’t have dreamed of contemplating in the 80s.

"In these strange times music has been an outlet for many – be it listening to it or creating it. I know for REACTION it’s been brilliant to reminisce and to get the creative juices flowing once more, and I hope the new music will put smiles on the faces of our fans, both new and old."
