THE coronavirus infection rate across Wychavon fell in the last week, according to the latest figures.

Public Health England data shows the rate in Wychavon, which includes Evesham and Pershore, was 159.9 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 13 with 207 positive cases recorded across the week.

The rate fell from 181.6 cases per 100,000 people in the previous week when 235 cases were recorded.

Wychavon's infection rate increased to 186.2 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 8 before dropping to 167.7 cases per 100,000 people on November 12.

Worcestershire's infection rate in the week up to November 12 was 243.9 cases per 100,000 people with 1,453 cases recorded in the seven days.

The infection rate in Wychavon was the second lowest in Worcestershire behind Malvern Hills.

Elsewhere in the county, the infection rate in Worcester fell slightly after hitting a peak of 280.6 cases per 100,000 people on November 12.

The rate dropped to 248 cases per 100,000 people on November 13 which was the same as the infection rate in the week up to November 6.

Malvern's infection rate in the week up to November 13 was 118.2 cases per 100,000 people with 93 cases recorded.

The rate fell from 127.1 cases per 100,000 people in the previous week.

Worcestershire's highest infection rate was in Redditch at 350.7 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 299 cases were recorded in the week up to November 13.

Bromsgrove's infection rate was 288.3 cases per 100,000 people in the same week with 288 cases recorded - higher than the rate of 214.3 a week earlier.

Wyre Forest's infection rate was 266.6 cases per 100,000 people with 270 positive cases recorded - up slightly from the previous week.
