CHILDREN at an Evesham nursery have been helping to ensure no one goes hungry this Christmas.

Families from Bright Kids Nursery, Davies Road, Evesham, clubbed together to pack off six crates of food and essentials to Caring Hands, an Evesham foodbank.

And Charlie Simmons, deputy manager of Bright Kids, revealed it would be just the start with more planned in the build up to the festive period, including a reverse advent calendar which gets filled each day with items of food or clothing.

“With Covid hitting there has been a lot of usage of foodbanks and we felt it important for us to get involved and play our part.

“We are going to do another one in time for Christmas and look into doing a reverse advent calendar so we can donate all sorts of things to help our families over the festive period.

“A lot of our pre-school children got involved with putting things into boxes, they have more of an understanding and they thought it was amazing to give things to people who may not be able to afford them for themselves.”
