HOMES and roads in Wyre Piddle are braced for continued flooding with levels of the River Avon expected to rise.

A predicted peak of between 2.4 and 2.6 metres at the Evesham river gauge is expected to arrive this afternoon (Monday, December 28) with flooding set to hit Wyre Piddle Caravan Park.

Eckington Road remains “impassable” and while no significant rainfall is expected over the next few days, the risk of some wintry showers could add to the problem.

River levels are expected to remain high until tomorrow (Tuesday, December 29).

The public is advised to plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers and to move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.

Levels are also expected to rise in Evesham with the flooding of roads and farmland expected to continue, including roads adjacent the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury.

Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham and Twyning, while Mill Bank Road from Jubilee Bridge to Fladbury is impacted.

In these areas the public is advised to avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers.

The impact of Storm Bella is still being felt in Bidford, although river levels are starting to fall.

Flooding of farms and roads is affecting low-lying land adjacent to the River Avon between Rugby and Bidford including Warwick and Stratford upon Avon.
