IT feels very brisk outside today with temperatures plunging below freezing last night.

Snow has been trying to fall in the city already and the Met Office predicts sleet and snow on Friday this week.

Today:

A largely dry day with sunny spells in the afternoon, though eastern areas may see a few, potentially wintry, showers at times. There is a risk of icy conditions during the morning. Feeling cold, with light winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Dry and mostly cloudy overnight, though there will be occasional clear spells. Very cold temperatures are likely, bringing a risk of freezing fog patches and icy conditions. Light winds. Minimum temperature -5 °C.

Thursday:

A largely dry day again, with sunny spells. Cloud will move in from the north during the late afternoon, possibly bringing patchy rain with it. Cold and icy again overnight. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A few outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow on Friday, then drier on Saturday. Staying cold both days, with sunny spells and overnight frosts. Cloudy and milder on Sunday.
