A PERSHORE photographer has been tracking the town’s answer to Banksy to deliver an up-close-and-personal account of his latest work.

Snapper Tim Smith spent some time flanking Mr Sce, whose work has been lighting up walks around the town during the latest Covid-19 lockdown.

As well as chronicling the process of the art coming together in images, Tim produced a time-lapse video in his man behind the mask piece.

“My experience with Mr Sce was a lovely one,” said Tim.

“From the outset his focus was placing his art in places where he could encourage people to use their limited exercise time.

“He says that he has had people tell him they’ve used his art as motivation to get out and exercise, something which is amazing, no doubt it’s helping physical and mental wellbeing during this time.

“His passion for his work, on this occasion The Owl, really shone through. Not only would he meticulously go about applying the paint in various forms through the spray can, he looked really happy doing so. He clearly thoroughly enjoys his work.

“He is ultra-sociable too. Any passers by that would stop and admire his work, he’d give of his time to talk to them.

“The people of pershore are very fond of him and he got many positive comments.

“At the end of the piece, he did his trademark Mr Sce signature for which he is becoming increasingly well known for around Pershore.”

Mr Sce, who created the mural on Pershore Town Football Club’s stand, has decorated popular walking routes through the town with paintings of wildlife.

An industrial gas engineer by trade, he has been overwhelmed by the reaction and plans to preserve the paintings and donate them to Acorn’s Children’s Hospice, Worcester.
