THERE has been one new coronavirus related death recorded at Worcestershire's hospitals - the first newly announced Covid county hospital death in nearly a week.

The latest NHS England daily figures, released this afternoon (March 31) show there has been one new death recorded in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

This means the number of deaths recorded in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is now at 798.

There have been no further deaths at Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, with its total staying at 63.

The newly announced death means in total there have 861 Covid-19 deaths in county hospitals.

And in all settings, which includes hospices and care homes, there have been at least 1,338 Covid-19 deaths.

The Acute Hospitals Trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.

The Health and Care NHS trust covers community hospitals and rehabilitation wards, including Worcester City Impatient Unit, Malvern Community Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital, Pershore Community Hospital, the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Tenbury Community Hospital and the Wyre Forest Ward.
