A 54-year-old man has denied assault following an alleged bust-up at a Worcester mosque.
Abdul Sahid of Northfield Street, Worcester, pleaded not guilty to assault by beating against Saiful Islam when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Thursday.
The alleged offence is said by the prosecution to have occurred at Worcester Central Mosque during a committee meeting on September 25 last year. Mark Cooper appeared over videolink for the Crown Prosecution Service.
Sahid was represented at the hearing by Sam Lamsdale.
A trial date was set for Tuesday, June 1 at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
Sahid was granted unconditional bail until then.
