POLICE are on the hunt for a man who tried to steal goods from a Pershore supermarket.

An eyewitness said a shop worker struggled to snatch back items from a man outside the Asda store before running back into the store with the goods.

Her intervention came after two other members of staff had already followed the man and requested he return the stolen items.

The attempted theft happened at 7.45pm on Tuesday.

Police say the incident was reported to them but no officers were sent to the King George’s Way store as the man had left the scene, heading towards the town centre.

A spokesman said officers in patrol cars were asked to look out for the man and the store’s CCTV had captured pictures.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101.
