POLICE are appealing for information after a man was bitten by a dog in Evesham.
It is reported that a man was walking his dog on the Evesham Rugby Club pitches in Blind Lane, at around 10am on Thursday 20 May when he began talking to a woman who was also walking her dog.
The woman's dog was a Staffordshire bull terrier, which was white and dark brown in colour and on an extendable lead.
Her dog then started attacking the man’s dog so he intervened. As he tried to part the dogs he fell over and put his arm up to protect himself.
The Staffordshire bull terrier then bit him on the arm, causing puncture wounds.
PC Paul Cound said: “The woman took her dog and immediately left the area. Obviously this was a distressing incident for the man who was bitten and I would ask anyone with information about the dog or their owner, to get in touch.”
The woman who was walking the Staffordshire bull terrier is described as white, in her 30s with short fair hair and of slim build.
She was wearing jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or report online via the West Mercia Police website quoting incident 289i of 20 May.
